Ruri Temple
Ruri Temple is located on Mount Funakoshi, and was founded at the request of Emperor Shomu in 728. It is a famous temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect with a long tradition as an ascetic center for blessings and prayers spanning nearly 1,300 years since its establishment. The bell in the main hall, an important cultural property of the prefecture, was donated by the Akamatsu family. The autumn leaves surrounding Ruri Temple are also splendid.

Founded in 1931, this shop offers a variety of confectionery unique to the town of Sayo, such as the "Morning Mist Rice Cake", "Sweetfish Monaka", "Deer Sponge Cake", and "Sayo Hime Yokan", which are named after the scenic morning mist in Sayo and evening mist in Tanba that has been renowned since ancient times. Jokoji Temple
"This temple belongs to the Koyasan Shingon sect and was built in 1656 as a branch temple of Yokosaka Hachiman Shrine. Every year on Tanabata (August 7) of the lunar calendar, the Hoshi Matsuri (Star Festival) is held and attracts many worshippers."
